Festive opening of terminal in Žilina

On 13 September 2007 the companies SKD Intras and Express Slovakia "Medzinárodná preprava, a.s." have festively opened the new part of container terminal in Žilina. The terminal provides at present the total area of 16,000m² for the handling and storing of containers, whereby the offered capacity was increased from 300 TEU to 1000 TEU, and at the same time it has at disposal two rails with lengths 330 and 430 m. In the field of handling means we have at disposal two side shifters Bationi and Pagani, an older face shifter Kalmar and a new model of the same manufacturer. The terminal can handle 3 to 4 complete container trains daily, and in addition to daily consignments the terminal processes weekly 7 to 9 trains in both directions. In addition to deliveries for the car company and further suppliers, which are directed through the port of Koper, it concerns also the shipping of SKD to the Kaliningrad zone. The company SKD Intrans operates the terminals also in Košice and in Bratislava.
